The optional piece is the dust cover as that's going to snap over time said cover is just a cosmetic piece so you can definitely do without it or pay the $65 for the RA Tech engraved bolt cover for borrowed time. Steel parts the only ones that are truly required is the trigger box and bolt-catch set which includes the sear, catch, and release button(either USGI or tactical style). The real wear is on the Bolt itself and even that stands up to punishment very well. That's cause of how the M14 is fundamentally designed in real-steel. Unless you can't do the work yourself it's always is going to be a better deal to buy only the parts you need for function unless you care that much about the Springfield Armory trades.įYI, you don't need a steel trigger set for the WE M14 in the same sense as you would a M4 or G39. It would be more efficient with money and time, and be more satisfying to just get a stock M14 and upgrade whatever you want to upgrade.Īlways check the classifieds. I personally wouldn't pay anything close to what they are asking for any of them.

I've heard that RA Tech upgraded WEs are pretty good, however the fitting isn't always that great, so the gun sometimes come out with more problems than the original.
